Blinking Check engine

Asked by Hector Oct 25, 2017 at 01:33 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2000 Silverado has a really rough idle and feels like it has loss power the
check engine light just keeps blinking and won't stop. I first noticed this
problem when I was just driving down the street when I got home I turned it
off and let it sit this morning I did an oil change turned it on and it was still
idling rough and the light was still blinking. My question is what is the cause?
What is the solution? And What are the major risks? I still haven't had the
time to read the code but I am not driving it.

Good choice, a blinking CEL will ruin your catalytic converters. You have raw unburned fuel getting to your converter. Do not drive until you resolve your issue.
