Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a new fuel pump on and car starts but
only runs a few sec then dies but will start
right back up but only dies again. Fuel
pressure is around 40 psi. What could be
causing this?

Start with the idle air control valve, on top of your motor, at the throttle body unplug one of the vacumn lines of anything but not to large of a hose then try to start your car if it runs ( probably poorly ) then it's the air valve. Get a new valve, (easy to put in) use the learn procedure for your car, if it won't stay running then look at replacing the throttle position sensor (also easy to do) Good luck
