Is it an aftermarket unit? I've never come across a factory unit causing these issues. I had a friend with an aftermarket remote start that did the same thing. After speaking with the manufacturer's tech support, they determined that it was a bad unit and the box had to be replaced (for free luckily). I would call the service department of your local dealership and speak to a service adviser. Just ask them if they've come in contact with this issue at all and what it turned out to be.
