water not staying in radiator

Asked by Jun 13, 2016 at 11:34 AM about the 1986 Mercury Cougar

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put coolant or anything in radiator and it
pours back out but about under the middle
of the car. what should I do?

Sounds like it could have blown freeze plugs, a leak that large would almost have too be, unless the block is cracked. You could try crawling under there and see where the water is coming from or tow it to a shop and get a professional opinion, freeze plugs do fail, but if the block is cracked it might not even be worth replacing the engine, but it's your car so the decision is yours.
