Heat Blower still not working

Asked by Oct 17, 2015 at 11:02 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Impala

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Blower not working, it is only getting 3-vdc, replaced the Blower resistor twice both new resistors only supply 3-vdc to blower on setting 1 to 4, no voltage at all on high setting 5. I removed the dash to get to blower selector switch and it also is only receiving 3-vdc. any Idea's what to try next??

Motor brushes are probably worn down to the commutator ... get another motor

These have 2 fuses for the blower motor. One for high speed only and another for the rest of the speeds. Also, check the blower motor relay. It may be bad. HTH. -Jim

Blower was making a sequelling noise then just stopped working. Wondering if it could be a belt or the motor and the cost it should be.
