I have a 2001 Cheverolet Impala the check engine light came on so i had it checked. The codes said that it was (Coolant temp below thermostat regulating temp) the next one said (Cooling fan 1 Control circuit)What does this mean and what should i do?
Hello, There could be many reasons for these problems. You could be leaking coolant, your thermostat may be getting stuck shut, or you may need a new fan. I would have a mechanic check it out. Best of luck! CarGrrl
CHECK YOUR FUSES. MY IMPALA DID SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND KEPT BLOWING FUSES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD THEN COME ON AND WOULD REPORT COOLING FAN CIRCUIT ERRORS. CHECK THE WIRING LEADING TO THE COOLING FANS FOR BREAKS OR BAD SPOTS. CHECK YOUR SENSORS. CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL. IF IT HAS AIR IN THE BLOCK, THE TEMP. GAUGE MAY NOT READ CORRECTLY AND THE ECT SENSOR MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY TO REPORT TO THE CARS COMPUTER TO HELP CONTROL THE COOLING FANS. IF ONE OF THE FAN MOTORS ARE GOING BAD, THEY MAY CAUSE SOME OF THESE SYMPTOMS TOO. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE FANS ARE PLUGGED IN WELL. IF ALL ELSE FAILS, CALL YOUR DEALERSHIP AND TALK TO A MECHANIC FOR MORE SUGGESTIONS.
