An by the way I have added transmission fluid an its a automatic motor is a 351 Windsor 2v v8 if that helps anything

Service the trany, drain the torque converter, replace the screen add 1 quart of TransX and refill to specs, drive it around starting out in low to about 10 mph then shift it to 2nd to about 20 the drive, do this a couple of times then see if it wil shift normally, if not you may have to let the TransX work a little, I believe that the valve body is all varnished up from setting, the TransX will clean that varnish out but it might take a little time, meanwhile you can change all the other fluids, differential, brake, power steering, and coolant, assuming you have already changed the engine oil and filter. Then move onto lubing the suspension parts and cleaning and repacking the front bearings and replacing the wheel seals. Good luck with your new project.
