Sevice engine light

Asked by Jan 15, 2016 at 11:56 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In Aug. I bought a 2002 Trailblazer w/ 128,000 mi. It's been running great!
But I live in MI and the snow has started. And when I have to drive in AWD
or 4WD hi, the "service engine soon" light comes on. There's no change in
how it handles. Just the light. I've already put 10,000 mi on it and haven't
had any problems or other service lights come on. How concerned should I
be? (Can do any expensive repairs until tax refund comes in.)

If truck is running normal,it is probably just a sensor that is bad, have it scanned to know the real issue, but as long as it runs and handles normal, you should have no issues with driving it,but have it scanned at parts store for free, then you will know what you need to do.
