Why does white smoke from the tail pipe means
It means the motor is burning coolant. If blue smoke burning oil.
or burning up condensation.. is it constant?
If you're losing antifreeze with no visible leaks it could be the intake manifold gasket or a blown head gasket. Pull the oil dipstick and look for white milky "goop" on it. If you see that, it's a head gasket. Also if the smoke is white billowy clouds, head gasket. HTH. -Jim
Only does it when I hit the gas like if I stop at a red light and take off it does it
Are you losing coolant or is it using oil? What is the air temperature when it does this.
Sounds like bad valve guide seals or a plugged PCV system. The smoke will be bluish though. HTH. - Jim
I'm loosing coolant
Now it has a tapping sound do I need another motor or it can be fixed
It's the intake manifold gasket or head gasket. Stop driving it now! The oil is contaminated with coolant. That's why it's tapping. You may have a spun bearing! Best to have a pro look at it at this point. If you don't have a spun bearing make sure that they change your oil and oil filter TWICE after the repair. Have them drain the oil and change the filter before it's even started after the repair. Then have them run the car for 30 minutes, at idle speed. Then change the oil and filter a second time. This will remove the contaminants from the oil and hopefully save your engine! HTH. - Jim
Thanks Jim ,How Much something like this cost
You're welcome. Glad to help. The intake manifold gasket job will run around $600. The head gasket job around $1200 to $1500. HTH. -Jim
