2002 Chevy Cavalier Car turns on fine but won't let me put it into drive or reverse.I have to wait for about 8 minutes then it sometimes let's me.I turn the car off and it will do the same thing again.The shifter button seems to lock or something for like around 8 minutes or so then it works fine again until the next time i turn off the car.

That shifter button issue is easy to fix. Remove the shifter cover and you will see a little clip that when the button is pushed it lifts it to allow you to move the shift lever. If you don't have kids in the car, you can remove this little clip and it will work fine, {Button will not be required to shift gears}. However, you might want to replace it with the part purchased from the dealer. I don't think it would cost very much, less than 10 bucks or so.
