i have a 2003 trailblazer, all of a sudden my ignition is locked up. how can I free up my ignition?

My key and ignition has been working fine. all of a sudden its licked up. its like
im using the wrong key.how can I free up my ignition?

make sure your gear selector is in park/nuetral foots on the brake .put pressure on key in starting direction as you turn steering wheel usualy to the left should free ignition
