I have a 2008 chevy equinox. After heating up it seems like the transmission is slipping
took it to aamco and says it need a new transmission for the tune of 4400.00 Could it be
I would hope that they aren't trying to take advantage of you. Is it possible that you are very low on automatic transmission fluid? Have you checked it using the dipstick?
Get a second opinion, $4400 sounds high too.
Have you tried changing the transmission fluid and filter ?
Is the check engine light on? If so, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most auto parts stores will do it for free. Post the codes and we can help further. Definitely get a second opinion! It may be a simple fix or it may be cheaper to replace the transmission assembly. Yes, $4400 sounds steep to me as well. HTH. -Jim
