This is what the EPA has to say about the mileage: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Volvo2008.shtml The EPA estimates were recently re-tuned to be more realistic for real-world driving conditions, so they should be pretty close to right.
In my case in highway it can do 44 kilometers per gallon
It gets 27 highway 23 city, so like an average of 25 mpg (better than Vw golf!)
