Chevy Tahoe 2007

Asked by Dec 28, 2015 at 10:06 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Tahoe and just recently I was sitting in it
for an hour with radio on and phone plugged in so
it went dead I got a jump and it was fine. One
month later I worked 24hrs and car was parked
and would not start until jumped again. I drove only
5min to office was there 4hrs and had to get
another jump. Had evaluated by mechanic battery
good, alternator good and so are wires. Been out
of town 6days and now won't start again.....why
please

Did your mechanic perform a battery draw test also, if not he would have missed a battery draw that is not suppose to be there, that sounds like what is happening. HTH

Plus your battery should last longer than an hour with just the radio playing, it sounds like you have more than just one problem happening.

I was only told battery was tested and ok. Is this a separate test that can be done that could have not been done and therefore missed? If it is standard then I am at a loss since everything else showed no problem

It is a separate test that normally is not performed during a charging system test due to the fact that it takes a bit more work then just hooking up a VAT machine and looking at the numbers and comparing them to the spec chart. HTH

It really just sounds like a bad battery
