Batter light comes on on my 2008 chrysler sebring

Asked by Jul 13, 2016 at 09:37 AM about the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my car and my battery light came on.
My car then stayed in one gear, not switching at all.
I pulled off the road and when I parked and turned
my car off it was completely dead. No lights,
sounds, nothing. I was able to get a boost and
head to the auto parts to to get brand new battery.
After my battery was installed I drove home and
half way home my battery light came back on. The
next day when I stated the car the light was off and
maybe 3 miles out it came back on along with 4
other lights. And when I used my left blinker, i
would hear a beeping sound. Why is this
happening?

Most people make the mistake that when the battery light icon comes on the battery is bad because it is showing a picture of a battery but what it really saying is the there is something wrong with the charging system could be another problem but most of the time the it is the alternator is not working. Alternator needs to be replaced.
