my 2003 chevy impala is using too much radiator fluid and im not sure if its something major wrong with it, like maybe in need of a water pump or something in that area???
i dont see any leaks but my car is using alot of antifreeze and i have asked a few
mechanics to check the problem out but it ends up as just guesses. need help just not
getting the problem corrected.
Pressure test the cooling system. This will cause it to leak while engine is off and cool. A small inspection mirror helps to see in all the tight spaces.
If it's the 3.4 L V6 it's most likely the head gasket. If it's the 3.8L it's most likely the intake manifold gasket. But as dandy said have it pressure tested to be sure. At least you'll know where to look. HTH. -Jim
