2003 Chevy cavalier started car when motor was froze..ran for a sec but went dead.now motor turns over but will not start..( could faulty freeze plugs cause the car not to start up???)
No freeze plugs will not keep it from starting, as the engine was froze it is really hard to say what has happened, the block maybe cracked to the point where there is no compression, sensors could have been broke during the freeze, heads cracked or gaskets blown, a real can of worms.
If your car has a timing belt that drives the water pump, it is possible that the water pump was froze solid and when starting it up it pealed the teeth off of the timing belt.
