I have an 03 chevy avalanch, my oil gage is stuck past 80 psi,but plenty of oil in truck, can anyone tell my if it as easy as replaceing just the gage or will i need to replace the entire panal. truck has about 120,000 miles
Either the gauge is bad, the sender or related electronics has an issue or the oil pump has a problem and is producing too much pressure. You need to have the actual oil pressure checked. Maybe you will get lucky and it will be the oil pressure sensor.
If its the gauge you can replace the stepper motor on the gauge cluster if you are decent at soldering. Otherwise you would need to replace the entire gauge cluster with a remanufactured cluster. Same goes for if a bulb burns out in your cluster.
