Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 chevy venture temp gauge jumps up to
hot as soon as I turn it over. A digital display saus
hot coolant temp. I pop the hood. Engine and
backside of radiator is cool to touch. After a few
minutes of idling things begin to warm up. But no
signs of overheating. I've replaced water pump,
thermostat, coolant levels are ok. I cleared the line
going to the overflow. I was told the 2 wire sensor
near the thermostat does not control the temp
gauge. I am having trouble locating the single wire
sensor. Anyone know where it's located?
