how do i repar a 3/8 aluminium ac line that has a nick in it about the size of a 16 penny nail shaft.
2003 jaguar I don't want to have to take apart the whole front end to replace entire nicked ac line its aluminum 3/8 tried jb weld, tried clamp for injector fuel line but still leaks.
replace the entire length...yes there is some redshit that you can put on there....even the professionals can use this stuff, but it will not stand the test of time~
I had a tranny line on my bonneville leaking about a year ago. It was similair to what you have it sounds like. What I did was drain the fliud out, took an angle grinder and cut out the section of line leaking. The I got a rubber hose that had an inside diameter of 1/4 or 3/8 or whatever it was and I patched the tranny line with that. I tightened each side with hose clamps. I don't know where your line is, but if the leak is next to any sort of fuel source, I wouldn't stick no angle grinder in there!!! Hope this helps!
yah--yah--yah---don't inhale the fumes~
You can find an AC line splice kit on amazon, eBay or at just about any auto parts store. It'll be a little more expensive at the store though but it'll work for you rather then having to change your AC line. Make sure you pull a good vacuum on the system before charging it
