Knocking noises are not good, usually means you need an engine, but first you need to see if you have any oil pressure, install a manual gauge on the engine, just follow the directions in the box, if you do have pressure then you need to find out what is causing the knock, is it rod bearings, main bearings and thrust bearings, loose torque converter, etc. If the oil pressure is low or non existent then an engine is most likely needed. Suburb ans are harder on engines just due to the additional weight, but whit proper maintenance they can last up to 500K miles but you really have to stick with it.
