Why does my 1975 2.0L Porsche 914 smoke (white) after I run it hard and then drive erratically then it quits smoking until I drive it erratically again.
Yes. this one is air cooled. So no chance of coolant due to a cracked block...no? mmmm don't know then.
Has this got Jet-tronic injection? or Bosch? anyways, there is a fuel pressure regulator what may need your attention.
jet tronic regulator schematic shown~
Components of the KE-Jetronic: 1. Air-flow sensor 2. Mixture-control unit 3. Fuel distributor 4. Pressure actuator 5. ECU 6. Fuel filter 7. Fuel accumulator 8. Electric fuel pump 9. Fuel injection valves (injectors) 10. Throttle-valve switch 11. Thermo-time switch 12. Cold-start valve 13. Engine-temperature sensor 14. Auxiliary-air device 15. Primate-pressure refulator
actual stuff, if you're gonna look. am simply guessing you have a jetronic. Datsun used these too-
Fiat as well.
Primate pressure refulator.....LOL>>LOL ya gotta be shittin' me?
...as if??? anyone would be so INTIMATE with the Jetronic to be able to explain each of these component function. This could be this weeks GURU QUIZ??
I think this is what makes a Porsche so expensive to diagnose failures.
somehow I'm their number 2 porche 914 expert....just 'cause I knew about the jet-tronic from my Datsun and 88 Quantum too- Love these cars, not as much as hamster, but have only a passing knowledge, as my buddy with the 914 has it NOT running more than he had the thing running- THB, you're leaving me with my union suit flap undone and all the vulnabilities exposed, a "howdoo" ==good job dude, would be nice. You could be a robot.
