I have a 2005 chevy impala 3.4 sfi 6cyl and
need to know how to replace the
transmission control solenoid.
well there are a lot of complaints~ http://www.carcomplaints.com/Chevrolet/Impala/2005/transmission/
solenoids are reliable...the signal to them is what we need to examine~ I believe this has a TCM transmission control module~ can dig deeper if you can't find it...or see the ground wire is off or connector is not fully plugged in or being a 2005 is suffering from LOW voltage~ brains go a bit caflooy when provided under- voltage...just get a new battery cause you need one and examine all connections~
solenoid just screws into the side...on lexus there are three of them~ not relyin' on pressure but signals from the TCM, or transmission control module~ but undervoltage is our culprit..I recon~
As you can see it is not an easy job, here the tranny is removed.
