Why do my exterior lights stay on when the van is turned off

I came home and noticed that our van had it's fog lights and rear parking lights on when the van had been turned off for at least a couple of hours.  Why????  How can I fix this?

The lights were actually the daytime running lights and turn signal that were staying on. I took out what I thought was the correct fuse and placed it back in, possibly resetting the box. The lights went off right away and everything seems to be working correctly now.
