Starting problems

I have a 2007 Chrysler T&C. Last week I drove to prop my kids off at daycare & take my son to the dr's. Drove their fine but when I tried again it wouldn't start. Everything else worked except the engine. I checked everything and it all seemed fine. I tried a couple of times. My son was rolling up the passenger window and I was trying again and the van started as tho their was no problem but all the gauges went all the way and down twice and then back to normal. It did the same thing again and I pushed the passenger window up and turned the key at the same time and it started. Had no problems until yesterday, did the same thing twice just like the week before. I went to my dad, who is a mechanic, and he thinks I'm losing it and never heard of anything like that. He checked everything and said everything is working perfectly. (If it happens again I'm gonna take a video for my dad). What are your thoughts?
