Question type: General

Is there any significance to the different color combinations of this car?  For example, mine is red exterior with red interior and a white top; however, the steering wheel is gold colored.  I've noticed a few, very few others with the gold steering wheel.  The GP convertible we had when I was a kid was red exterior with black interior and top.  Is there any rhyme or reason to these variations?  The gold steering wheel baffles me.  It is so hard to get any information on this rare breed.

I don't believe there is any significance -- merely that, back in the day, you could order pretty much anything you wanted and have the car manufacturers make it for you. Nowadays, you pretty much just get what they send out. There were literally hundreds of different combinations of interior and exterior colors, etc., available in the 1950s and 1960s.
