will green antifreeze affect my 2006 Impala LT 3.9?
A friend of mine bought a 2006 Impala which had the dexcool in it and when he changed the radiator cap and thermostat there was brown or pinkish sludge. He did a complete flush of the cooling system radiator, engine and heater core.
Then, he used 50/50 green antifreeze.
He changed the blend door actuator and bled the cooling system.
Also.new water pump.
The engine does not overheat and the temperature gauge is working normally.Temperature sensor and oil sensor replaced also.
The only problem he has is, when he turns on the heat it blows luke warm air. Not cold and not hot.
Mental note....I have known lots of people who changed their antifreeze like he did and they never had any problems with the cooling system.
What could his problem possibly be?
I tried to help but, after all possibilities I was out of resources, unless I missed something.
Thanks 4 any help.
So you either still have a blend door problem or the heater core is partially plugged. Was the HVAC system reset after the blend doors were replaced?
