Did Pontiac offer a roll bar for the Firebird in '69

Friend bought car in used in '70. Had what could best be described as a pickle fork post mounted just behind the front seats on the trans tunnel. Best I can remember it was covered with the same carpet as on the floor. Blue interior. Haven't seen this on any other '69.

No. Most likely an aftermarket add on. There was a book published called "The Fabulous Firebird" which is extremely informative about these cars. I've read it cover to cover many times over the years. My Sister had a '69 Firebird 400 back in the early '80s. Awesome car!! HTH. -Jim
