thanks, yes I have been to that sight but it doesn't give any transmission specs. or give any info on how many cars were produced that were conv. with column shifters etc.
This is a very unusual car but the floor shifter and turbo- hydramatic 400 transmission were both extra cost options. Look for a book titled "The Fabulous Firebird". It's extremely informative and packed with original photos, production numbers, etc. Try ebay, Amazon, or your local book store. HTH. -Jim
I believe it is a base model convertible with the 350 HO engine I just think most people that bought these cars were looking for the floor/sportier shifters. I will get this book! thank you
You're welcome, glad to help. Years ago my Sister had a '69 Firebird 400 coupe. It was an awesome car! I was disappointed when she got rid of it in 1981. I wasn't old enough to drive yet or I'd have bought it from her. It was orange with black and white interior, air conditioning, AM /FM stereo 8 track, power trunk release, and clock. - Jim
Oh and if you contact Allied Vaughn with your vehicle identification number you can get a copy of the original factory to dealer invoice for your car. The cost is $50.00. -Jim
