my taillights are still faintly on in my 2006 Chevy cobalt even though it is shut off. What can I do to prevent the battery from draining until I can get it in for service?

Pull the headlight breaker in the fuse box when the car is parked. That will cut off the power supply to the headlights without interrupting the other electrical components in the car.
