Engine swaps for a 1988 Nissan Sentra
I have a 1988 B12 Sentra. I am looking to swap engine, to a SR20DET Bluebird engine. I just need to know what mods am i gonna need to make it work?
i know you have posted this mad long ago and by now have probably put the engine in already. Sooo what did you have to change?? i know the hole engine and tranny and motor mounts. what els??
I swapped in an SR20DE into my 98 B14 Sentra... did all the work myself, and I can definitely tell you what you'll need. -Motor mounts -Radiator, including upper/lower hoses (inlet and outlet diameters differ between the 1.6L and 2.0L motors) -Transmission -CV axles -ECU -Wiring harness (turbo motor's got a few more sensors, 95% sure on this one) -Fuel pump (the turbo motors require higher output pump to support the increased fuel consumption, as I believe) -Exhaust pipe (should take a 2" pipe from the flex back to the flange for the muffler section) -Intake pipe/air cleaner box -All the sensors and accessories have to be from the SR20DET (alternator, power steering pump, MAF sensor, etc.) Pretty sure that's about it, but it's plenty, trust me. By the way, the engine/transmission should be removed as one piece, dropped out the bottom of the engine bay with the car on a rack - I was lucky enough to have a buddy with a shop that let me borrow his lift long enough to dump the 1.6L and loosely bolt in the 2.0L... I then towed the car back to my place to finish connecting everything.
