i have a 1986 nissan maxima and cant get it to start. The battery seems to be ok all electric seems to come on but when i turn the key nothing happens no sound of clicking to turn over. Is it something to do with the starter?
probably. check your starter cable connection. Also, could be starter relay fuse, ignition switch. If you replaced the starter you could have the wires crossed.
i have a 97 maxima same thing sometimes turn key starts sometimes just dash lights. have went throught ignition cylinder, ignition switch, battery, cable ends, starter, fuses and know im about to replace the park neutral safety switch im lead to believe this could be it i sure hope so im tired of this problem it has been a problem for like 3 years. but now it wont start at all or i wouldnt b fixing it
My 96 Maxima did the same thing last month, and it turned out the be the starter. One way to tell is if you tap the starter and the engine turns over, you know you need a new starter.
