Why won't the car hold an idle?

The car had a missing problem and then my son adjusted the fuel adjustment and now it won't hold an idle..

Check the Idle Speed Control Actuator, there could be an issue with that which would explain why the car won't hold an idle. Also check the throttle positioning sensor.
