Starts great cold or warm, idles great, "bogs down when given load but does not shut off off
1980 vanagon, Rebuilt motor installed 3 years ago, most exterior parts
replaced same time, ran great until 3 weeks ago: starts great warm or cold,
runs great at idle and up to apx 3500 rpm, then bogs down but continues to
run under load, as if flooded or starved, then I let up a bit on peddle, runs
great.** Does the same thing under no load, in driveway, warm or
cold**........ECU, AMF replaced, vacuum, fuel delivery, ignition, timing, new
plugs, rotor, cap, oil, all good. All ECU tests at connector good...
...Reading AFM @ pins 6&7,45 ohm...7&8,165 ohm...AFM strip sweep
test....pins 6&7, start 45 ohms, sweep read is mainly above 550/600 ohms,
short dip to 130's in middle....pins 7&8,start 210 ohms, sweep read is 525
and above, erratic, drops to below 200 ohms apx 20 % of sweep..I vote bad
AFM, girlfriend votes get a water boxer........errrr....I digress.
Again, I vote bad AFM due to high sweeper resistance. Yes?
