74 beetle.. i have a rare hood with ni vents on it.. does it effect the engine temp??
That is a factory hood and should be fine unless you live in a hot climate and sit in traffic a lot- if this is the case, the accepted practice is to put vents in or just prop the door open- is this your daily transportation? good luck
I've had a bunch of VW's and had both types of hoods and the closed hoods always worked better than the vented in our colder climate and higher elevation, but I have seem them with hood scoops installed over the vents to get more air in the compartment for hotter climates.
thank u for your answers.. i live in Jordan it's around 30 degrees in summer and im working on it right now to be my daily transportation i heard that if i got rid of the heaters hoses in the summer it might help.. is it true??
Like an air cooled motorcycle, the best bet is just to keep moving- keep the wind flowing over the engine- sitting and idling is to be avoided in these beasts
