Question type: General

So i finally got my beetle to turn over properly and start, but the heater is an issue
for getting safetied. There is a white knob under the steering wheel that when i
pull it out it makes a sound like a heater fan going, however I'm not sure. Some
clarification would be lovely.

pictures are worth a thousand words. the gas heater was NOT a factory option. it was a dealer installed item, and there were a few different brands. each works basically the same, but each are different in certain aspects. what type of gas heater does your car have (brand)? my email address is csbilllngs@windstream.net. send me some pics of the heater, and knob/control, and i'll walk ya thru it.
