i found a 1973 beetle with a 3 speed outomatic transmission. does this add or subtract from the value?

Asked by Oct 05, 2015 at 09:05 AM about the 1973 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: General

I am considering this car for restoration but don't want to start if the value is not there. I need someone with more knowledge than me concerning this 3 speed automatic transmission as well as thoughts on value. It is in need of full restoration.

The car is worth about $2,500.00 on low end up to 11,000.00 on a good restoration job. photos would be nice...

The Autostick VW was never very good or even popular, I would recommend getting a repair manual for the tranny cause your going to need it if anything happens. But the good thing is you can make it a standard trans if you had too.
