engine swap in a vw trike

Asked by 1641TrikeVW May 11, 2022 at 07:01 PM about the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a vw trike with a auto tranny. The engine blew up so I found a engine out of a standard transmission. Is there anything I should know about switching the engines. I know the flywheel will have to be removed and the flex plate off off the original engine needs to be installed on the new engine. Is there anything else I need to do before I install it

Nope. Man I thought all those so called automatics were dead and scrapped by now. Have fun.

I remember being shown how the tranny pump was on the motor with lines going to the tranny on one years ago .
