I changed my steering column out with a column from a 1989 wrangler, the 89 column had tilt steering and my 87 did not. I now have electrical problems such as no directionals and no wipers, any ideas?

The lever for the tilt column will not stay up and so the steering wheel goes wobbly. I just drove home holding it in the up postition. Is there a way to lock it that I don't understand?
