I have a 1986 dodge ramcharger, and was wondering what i have too do to the carb? it starts and runs but chugs alot. it also makes a weird clicking sound and lets out some black smoke

Black smoke is running very rich. You have to lean it out with the screws on the carb.


Check to see if the choke is opening properly, if it is wide open and you are having this problem then it is an internal carb problem. Have you had the carb overhauled with the newer ethanol resistant components?
