i have a1986 dodge pickup 5.9 dosent start when i turn the key off it backfires please help

are you a tooth off on the distributor? did you change the distributor or wires? maybe even crossed the wires!

just put a new distributor with pick up coils that are pre gapped...

you said you changed the moduel. if it's still backfiring and your sure the distributor is in right your going to have to change the timing chain and gears must have jumped and stripped the gears.

i half way ther jus need to remove that balancer to get there.... lets see wut pops up

was wondering how you made out? ps try getting all steel gears if possible

just got back on it this morning found out i got slack on the chain one side tight and other side loose hope i,m getting somewhewre... thanks
