my 1998 dodge van, backfires, shuts off while driving

shuts off while driving, backfires, can't keep running, have had 3 mechanics look at it, replaced computer, plugs , wires, coil wire, crankshaft sensor. strong odor of gas, Plugs foul out immediately

If the plugs are gas fouling then there is a loss of ignition while driving, have you had the distributor checked, there was a problem with the window plate coming loose and damaging the pickup plate.
