My 87 dodge ram 50 is not getting gas i replaced fuel filter and went to try to start it and the filter remains empty. What could be some reasons for this

Maybe the fuel pump is faulty. When you turn the key, does the fuel pump turn on and pressurize the lines? Also check your wiring to the fuel pump.

This is not an electronic fuel pump
