How much does it cost to rebuild, or used manual transmission and 2.2 liter engine?

I'm 16 years old and interested in buying one from a friends dad, would needs a complete
restoration, I'm interested in bringing it back to its glory. Trying to go as cheap as I can
because of a fast food budget.

A lot of the parts are no longer available due to the age, but it can be done. You will need to search and call a few shops in your area on prices. I use this site for parts that you will need...www.rockauto.com....But you'll probably have more moeny into it than what the car would be worth when your done. So this restoration would be a labor of love.

Well said Tom. I'd add that the first goal would be to get it running and driving safely. Then proceed step by step in whatever order is comfortable and affordable for you. I would also suggest getting a factory shop manual and a factory body manual for the car. Because of it's age many people and shops simply won't know how to work on it or how to fix it. So you'll have to, even if you don't have the tools or equipment you'll have to be able to advise the shop what needs to be done. Good luck with your project!! HTH. -Jim
