I have a 1974 Dodge Charger SE. I'm trying to refill my radiator with coolant but my radiator cap says "do not remove" not "do not remove when hot." How can I refill it w/o removing the cap?

Let it cool down. Remove the cap, add the coolant till full, start the car with the cap off and let the car warm up and thermostat open, the add till full and put the cap back on. Recheck the level in a day or 2 when cold.

It says "Do Not Remove"? How does it make sense to remove it.
