2007 toyota 4 runner heater core

Asked by Allie Jan 06, 2018 at 02:13 PM about the 2007 Toyota 4Runner

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a 2007 4 runner about 3 months ago.
Inside if windshield keeps getting really dirty/hazy
within about 3 days of cleaning. Cabin filter is
clean. Heat and defrost are working but pretty sure
we smell antifreeze. Any other ideas before I take
my whole dashboard off or paysome way to much
to do it?

yes make sure your not loosing coolant. but you said you just bought it right? iv'e known of a few cleaners that detailers use when the sun hits it through the windshield the vapors from the chemicals will rise onto the windshield causing a haze. just putting that experience out there.

Ya not seeing coolant leak anywhere else so I wasnt sure. Someone was telling me there was no way it was the heater core is it wasn't leaking on the floorboards. I definitely thought it was something they cleaned with at first, but have cleaned the window 10+ times since I bought it and it just keeps coming back. Using safelight window cleaner since my roommates work there.

So how big of a pain in the butt is it to do yourself? Both roommates have some mechanical experience and I really don't wanna pay like $800

wait to make sure you are leaking. that's a lot of work if your not sure.
