How cumbersome and expensive would it be to repair rusty brakelines on a 99 Mercedes ML320?
My 99 ML320 has $230K miles on it..trying to keep it going for another 5-6 mos..went in to shop for a clogged EGR tube and we asked for an overview of the car's overall health. We were told that the brakelines were rusted. It was implied that it is a "major job" and I'd like to get an idea of what is involved and how costly it could be? Is it worth it?
My friends MB had the same issue, his was a '84. It is a major job as all the lines must be bent by a mechanic and routed properly. Any brake/muffler shop can easily do it. Get a free estimate and you be the judge if you'd like to keep the '99 on the road yet.
