Yes. You must make the distinction between CEL.... Check Engine Light, sometimes a little engine symbol. If that lights up, the OBD has detected a fault and the car needs attention. If the CEL FLASHES a more serious fault has been detected. Now alltogether different is Maintenance Required light. The answer is yes it perfectly fine to drive to have service done
