How can I get into my locked and broken handle Jetta?

Asked by May 25, 2012 at 07:23 PM about the 1998 Volkswagen Jetta

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last time I drove this 1998 Jetta ,the passenger handle would not work or the drivers side handle.  Had to crawl in
the back seat and get out the back door.  But mow those doors are locked and the remote will not open them.  The
key will turn the driver lock but the door will not open.  Help.  How can I get in this car to get it fixed?

Do you have AAA or a auto tow service as part of your car insurance? They can come out and use a jimmy bar to open the door for you. The local police or fire department might help, or you can have the car towed to a local garge and they can open the doors and then fix the handle and linkage problems.
