I own a 99 model Volkswagen beetle. I park my car at an incline where I live and it's been dying when I pull up these last few days. Can anyone give me a clue as to why?
The first time it died we thought it
was out of gas, but it said I had a
quarter tank, and the other times it
just died and the battery light came
on as soon as I pulled up.
ISC dirty or stuck, dirty throttle body, plugged air filter. The battery light will turn on when engine speed drops below field activation speed, so most likely the battery light turning on is a normal operation. Try to keep more fuel in it and add some Techron to it, that will clean the injectors.
If the car is on an incline when it dies and its low on fuel, that could be the issue. Your fuel gauge could be getting a false reading due to the incline saying you have enough fuel mean while your fuel pump could be starving since the fuel is sitting in the corner of the tank. So add fuel and see if it still happens.
Thank you! I'll let you know if it helps!!!!
